Cost of Living - My 6 Favourite Pantry Essentials
More emphasis on wellbeing than ever before. Here are my six favourite pantry essentials.
Peanut butter
Protein, fat, fibre. The epitome of yum and the perfect topping for bread, fruit, veg, in recipes and just by itself. Rude not to really.
Tinned beans and lentils- fibre
Protein, non-haem iron, for you meat lovers, a really good way to bulk up meals and get more out of your animal protein. Also delicious to make nachos, cottage pie, bolegnaise out of too without meat. So good.
Tinned tomatoes
Self explanatory. Useful for everything. Source of Lycopene (a powerful antioxidant).
Tinned fruit
Again stable, good for warm winter desserts, to top your porridge with, to eat with yoghurt, bake. The worlds your oyster. Buy the juice variety or rinse the syrup off. You’re welcome.
Pasta
Oooo I know terrible of me CARBS delightful. Pair with vegetables, plenty of fibre and you’ve got yourself a comforting nice time. No, pasta is not bad and you will be okay.
Frozen vegetables
Spinach, peas and corn, capsicum, stir fry mixes, cauli rice- just naming a few in my freezer at the moment used to bulk our meals with goodness.
Of course I’d always recommend chocolate as a pantry staple too.
Take care,
Jade
